The Complexities of Your Emotions The Paintbrush, Your Life: The Canvas 🎨🖌️
An honest and raw confession, inspired by a Pixar movie
I watched Inside Out again today. It came after an explosive and intense emotional wave of grief and sadness.
I have kept this hidden from most people, but I was inspired to share because of how the tone of this film resonated with me (thanks @disney).
I have suffered and experienced severe loss over the last year. In my pursuit of forging my own path, I lost everything, down to my last dollar and the great love of my life—both of those socking me in the gut this month.
Despite seeing nothing but closing doors, every day, I brush myself off and get back on the horse.
But the beauty of this movie reminded me that there’s value in our sorrow, there’s value in our sadness. Not all of our life experiences should be glowing bright and happy.
While I remember the deep love I shared, I am also wrenched in pain of the truth that I will never hold my love in my arms again….
What this movie has reminded me of is the complexity of the human experience.
That love can be mixed with sorrow, rage, and even sadness.
What I want more than anything in this world is to see us all connected, sharing, and lifting each other up. But we can’t do that if we’re not raw and honest with ourselves about the pain and heartache we carry.
Allow this message to be an invitation to speak your truth and a balm of acknowledgemsnt that you are not alone in your struggle.
With you always, even when I’m hurting 🫶
